Max Stibbe Nursery school

A most exquisite nursery school, on a farm, where your child can truly experience childhood...

The tranquil surroundings and homelike environment of the Max Stibbe Nursery School offer the ideal setting for the young child's growth and development.

Although some independent schools have nursery school facilities, Max Stibbe is unique because we offer consistency and continuity throughout the child schooling. Our goal is to let children be children for as long as possible, and to protect the precious childhood years for the sake of healthy physical and emotional development, and for later academic learning.

We strive to preserve the innocence and wonder of early childhood. We believe that by nurturing the imagination and a sense of self, a solid foundation for learning is created. To this end, play, rhythm and themes, activities and stories are combined to form a meaningful programme.

Play is essential preparation for later life.

We aim to relate to the child’s inner life and specific stage of development. Children participate in joyful activities related to the earth, the seasons and celebration of quarterly festivals. They learn many creative skills, which ensure that they excel during their school career.

A day in the life of the Nursery School child

Upon arrival every morning, a time for creative play precedes a developmental activity period: painting, modelling or handwork; baking; drawing and gardening.

After the activity period, all children go on a walk collecting exciting treasures on the way. These are often used for creative crafts.
A mid-morning break follows, when fresh milk is offered and the children enjoy sandwiches provided by the school kitchen.

Then it is time for circle, when the children learn seasonal verses and songs, do finger and singing games, or practise for the end-of-term festival to which parents and friends are invited.
Following another play period, a good, wholesome lunch is offered at midday, after which a special story gives the children something for their hearts and minds.
A rest period concludes the day….

Class R

Class R
children are challenged and prepared for primary school with advanced activities which include movement, art, drama, speech, crafts and the acquirement of pre-academic skills.

We believe that the parents play a very important role in the child’s growth in their early formative years. Therefore we only offer boarding school for children in Class 3 or above.
