Rudolf Steiner School
In 1919, Rudolf Steiner
founded the first Waldorf School in Stuttgart, Germany. In many
parts of the world Waldorf schools are known as Rudolf Steiner schools
or even Steiner Schools. Today, there are almost 900 Rudolf Steiner
Schools worldwide. The long-term success of Rudolf Steiner’s
education system sets it apart from other systems and educational
reforms of the 20th century. The fact that Rudolf Steiner
Schools continue to thrive is testament to the relevance
and contemporary nature of Rudolf Steiner education.
A Rudolf Steiner
school aims to address the changing needs of each child
as they progress through their developmental phases. Although care
is taken to ensure that learners meet the minimum requirements of
the state, which includes all the recognised subjects of the national
curriculum, our focus is on the Waldorf
curriculum. Learners are taught age-appropriately and the aim
is to ensure that the child is addressed as a whole person and not
just a machine that has to process large amounts of data. This innovative
teaching method assists in reaching the objectives of developing
clarity in reason, balance in emotion as well as initiative and
a real consciousness for what is happening in the world around us.
Rudolf Steiner schools
help learners flourish in a wonderful and engaging atmosphere that
fosters clear, critical thinking and innovation, open-mindedness
and compassion. The close human relationships cultivated at Rudolf
Steiner schools help learners develop a strong sense of self and
an awareness of others.
Rudolf Steiner schools
have a reputation for producing balanced, well-rounded individuals
who are able to cope with the demands of this dynamic and uncertain
world.
